Biostatistics Symposium of Southern California (BSSC) is a is a non-profit organization with a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt status. Its mission is to:
1. To prepare and host events for the Southern California Area biostatistics and data science community in academia, Bio-pharmaceutical and other life science industries. Its flagship event is the annual Biostatistics Symposium of Southern California
2. To promote the impact and innovations of statisticians in Bio-pharmaceutical and other industries and bring discussion of innovative methodology in biostatistics and data science areas of life sciences
3. To collaborate with the three local chapters of the American Statistical Association (ASA) – Southern California Chapter (SCASA), Orange County and Long Beach Chapter (OCLBASA), and San Diego Chapter (SDASA) for developing the future generations of statisticians working in the industry
is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and students to foster collaboration, exchange knowledge, and advance the understanding and application of statistical methods and analytics. Through presentations, workshops, and discussions, this conference aims to promote the development of innovative statistical approaches, address current challenges in biostatistics, and facilitate the dissemination of research findings that contribute to evidence-based decision-making in the biological and medical sciences.
Statisticians, statistical analysts/programmers, data science & clinical research professionals, clinical trial and research operations, regulatory affairs associates, academic researchers, students, or anyone interested in learning more about drug development and regulatory aspects.
Similar to those who attend, our committee members are made of members from the pharmaceutical/academia community. In fact, most of us started off as attendees before becoming committee members.
