On behalf of the organizing committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2027 Biostatistics Symposium of Southern California (BSSC), taking place February 24–25, 2027, at the beautiful Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel in Newport Beach, California, followed by a half-day post-conference short course on February 26.

Our theme for this year’s symposium is:

From Data to Decisions: Driving Innovation Through AI, Analytics, and Insights

As the biostatistics and data science landscape continues to evolve, advances in artificial intelligence, analytics, and data-driven methodologies are transforming how we generate evidence, solve complex problems, and make decisions across the life sciences. The 2027 BSSC will bring together biostatisticians, data scientists, statisticians, researchers, and industry leaders to explore these developments and discuss how we can translate increasingly complex data into meaningful and actionable insights.

Over two days, the symposium will feature engaging presentations, thought-provoking discussions, and opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences with colleagues from across academia, industry, and the broader biostatistics community. We will explore emerging methodologies and real-world applications of AI and analytics, while also considering the practical challenges of applying these tools responsibly and effectively.
